The 9th LEAPS Plenary Meeting will take place on 15–16 October 2026 at European XFEL in Schenefeld, Germany, bringing together representatives from across the LEAPS community, including Strategy Groups, Working Groups and the General Assembly, as well as LEAPS partners, associates and invited guests.
The annual Plenary provides an important opportunity to review LEAPS activities and achievements, discuss strategic priorities and strengthen collaboration across the community. This year’s meeting will also be a special occasion to mark and celebrate the establishment of LEAPS AISBL, an important milestone in the development of the LEAPS Initiative.
The programme will feature internal LEAPS meetings, updates from the LEAPS Chairs and Projects, interactive sessions, panel discussions and networking opportunities, as well as a visit to the European XFEL facility.
A strategic panel discussion, “Science in the Age of AI — What Do Research Ethics Mean in 2026?”, will explore the future of LEAPS and the role of research infrastructures in addressing emerging scientific and societal challenges.
