WG1.2 Optics & Beamline Instrumentation
The purpose of WG 1.2. is developing and improving SR-beamline instrumentation available for experiments at both Synchrotron- and FEL- sources in Europe. To strengthen the capabilities in photon science at large scale facilities for science and industry in Europe.

– a new technology line for the production of diffractive gratings is under development within the NeXtgrating-project covered by the LEAPS-INNOV project.
– we do expect a significant improvement of plane-mirror quality as provided to our community by European vendors as a result of the currently running Super Flat activities within LEAPS-INNOV.

– two developments on plane mirrors (Super Flat) and diffractive gratings (NeXtgrating) under the umbrella of the LEAPS-INNOV project.
– future work will be focused on improving the quality of beam-shaping curved reflective optical elements.
– a further topic of development is on the field of a “Fully Automated Beamline”.

Meetings are held in coincidence with regular LEAPS and LEAPS-INNOV meetings usually 2-3 times per year, as well as on request
